Hermann Rauschning

[edit]

Hi, there. I noticed that you noticed Hermann Rauschning also. I point your attention to "Kultur" also. WHEELER 14:27, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • I only fixed the article you wrote without really knowing a lot about Hermann Rauschning. But I will check out the other article as well. BigBen212 14:46, 10 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the pictures

[edit]

Thank you for the pictures. I should be able to expand the Temple Square articles once I can find a bit more time. CHL 17:05, 12 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Haha! I was just going to ask if you could upload a picture of the Salt Lake City-County Building, but you've already put it up! I live in Salt Lake and can take some of these pictures, but this makes it a lot easier for me to make articles. I plan to do articles on many of the historic or otherwise important buildings in Salt Lake City. I have drafts for the City-County Building and Tabernacle (if you have the Tabernacle, that would be great), but I also wonder if you could put up a couple pictures of the Utah State Capitol. Currently the dome is under rennovation so it's not possible to get a characteristic photo. CHL 02:01, 17 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I'm not sure what the modern building photo you have is. I know I've seen it before. I think it might be on the block west of Temple Square. The mansion with steps leading up to it and a spired roofs is the Alfred McCune Home, and the house with flat roofs is called the Woodruff-Riter-Stewart Home. Each is on the incline on the south part of Capitol Hill, and each ws built around the turn-of-the-century. I have reference material here from the Capitol Hill article I just wrote and will be able to write short articles on each of these mansions soon. CHL 03:11, 5 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Picture location

[edit]

Hi there, great pictures of SLC etc, do you know about the Wikimedia Commons? If you put your pictures there instead of on wikipedia they are available automatically to all wikipedia language versions. Hope this helps. Bob Palin 15:24, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Yup, know about it now, but not back when I first put them on wikipedia. I think that was even before Wikimedia Commons started. BigBen212 16:24, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

St. Lawrence College changes

[edit]

I think the changes you made to the St.Lawrence College entry were inapprorpriate.

* I introduced a section for famous former pupils, basing the section on similar schools. This can then be completed by people with knowledge of reputed former students.
* Although the comments of the food were not flattering, there was other valuable information that you removed.

If you have nothing constructive to contribute, I suggest you leave wikipedia to those people who make an effort to contribute. Arbitrarily deleting content in this way borders on vandalism and will lead to complaints made against you.

May I suggest you put it back as it was originally.

Thank you.

See Talk:St. Lawrence College, Ramsgate for my reply. BigBen212 01:02, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:CalvinLRampton.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 22:12, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't notice that it has some source. I've placed a tag. Thanks-- Shyam (T/C) 19:58, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, its repetition pattern matching. The bot should have caught the first one.... but it caught your fix under the same rule. Thanks for the note and fixing it :) -- Tawker 18:02, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello BigBen212! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited TWA Flight 847, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Amal. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
